Mr. Baerwaldt has extensive experience in acquiring businesses in logistics, distribution, transportation and local delivery industries and has successfully executed a number of consolidations. In 1980, Mr. Baerwaldt founded National Exprezz, a local delivery service of lost luggage for airlines operating out of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Mr. Baerwaldt served as the Vice President in charge of Finance and Operations and was one-third owner. In 1988, Priority Air Express was sold to Express Airborne in Canada.
Mr. Baerwaldt started Magic Messenger, Inc. and between 1988 and 1994; Magic Messenger, Inc. grew from this start up position through an aggressive roll-up strategy in this highly fragmented industry, through a series of 21 acquisitions. Mr. Baerwaldt also was a former shareholder and executive at Midnight Express. Today, Mr. Baerwaldt serves as Chairman & CEO of EXTRA Express and in this role focuses his effort on the company’s corporate finance, strategic planning and acquisitions activities.
